The West Coast Regional Council is situated in Greymouth, on the beautiful West Coast of the South Island, an extraordinary part of the country that offers the best in lifestyle and location.

Current Vacancies

Hydrology Technician

Working alongside our Resource Scientists and Hydrological Technicians you will have the opportunity to see the spectacular surroundings whilst undertaking regular site visits to our monitoring sites.

You will be right at home with a hammer constructing or working with our vast range of electronics and radio networks.

These handyperson skills will be paired with your excellent communication and planning skills and a willingness to learn about technical hydrology.  An eye for detail and a can do attitude are essential, along with a great sense of humour.

Senior Hydrological Technician

Do you enjoy juggling tasks all while keeping your sense of humour and a bright smile on your face?  Then do we have a challenge for you.

The West Coast has the best environment for collection of hydrometric, and climatic data. You will have the opportunity to see the spectacular surroundings whilst undertaking regular site visits to our monitoring sites.

Your organisation skills and data processing will be paired with your excellent communication and planning skills.  An eye for detail along with a can do attitude are essential.

If your tertiary qualification in hydrology, environmental science or a related field has not set you up to take on this challenge then your on the job experience in one of these areas will have.
