Commitment to Regional Efficiency

​​​​​The Mayors of the three District Councils and the Chairman of the West Coast Regional Council have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that sets out the principles and approach to future collaboration amongst the West Coast councils, for the benefit of our communities of ratepayers.

Our commitment is to provide good quality local infrastructure and local public services, and to perform our regulatory functions in a way that is most cost effective for households and businesses.

Since December 2013 the West Coast Mayors and Chairs forum has adopted a unified approach to improve the efficiency of local government service delivery within our region. Each Council leader is committed to an open, collaborative approach where each organisation supports the others. The MOU records the considerable progress made in recent times and charts the way forward for further gains. ​
