Humping and Hollowing

“Humping and hollowing” and “flipping” are techniques used to improve land drainage and pasture production. These techniques are making development possible on lands  where such development was once considered impracticable.

This review of humping and hollowing covers:

  • What is known about the effects of humping and hollowing;
  • A summary of the  resource consents issued over  the three years ending June 2004; and
  • An assessment of monitoring  requirements.
