The Regional Pest Plant Management Strategy for the West Coast was prepared in accordance with the Biosecurity Act 1993, and became operative in August 2005.
The purpose of the Strategy is to provide a strategic and statutory framework for efficient and effective management of pest plants in the West Coast region. The Strategy aims to:
- Minimise actual and potential adverse and unintended effects associated with the targeted pest plants; and
- Maximise the effectiveness of individual pest plant management by way of a regionally co-ordinated approach.
