Efficiency and Effectiveness Review

The West Coast Regional Policy Statement (RPS) became operative on 10 March 2000.

Under Section 35(2A) of the Resource Management Amendment Act 2003, regional councils must, at intervals of not more than five years, compile and make available to the public a review of the results of monitoring the efficiency and effectiveness of regional policy statements and plans.

This report assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of the Objectives, Policies, Methods and Anticipated Environmental Results (AER’s) in the RPS. It also assesses whether the Issues in each chapter are still significant for the region.
