Regional Policy Statement

Overviews the resource management issues, objectives, policies and methods to achieve integrated management of the natural and physical resources of the whole region.

 

Air Plan

Aplan for managing the quality of the West Coast’s air resource.

 

Coastal Plan

Enables Council to sustainably manage activities in the coastal marine area of the region.

 

Discharges to Land

Provides the framework for managing the discharges of contaminants to land.

 

Land and Riverbed Plan

Provides the framework for managing effects of land disturbance and activities in river and lake beds.

 

Land and Water Plan

The Proposed Regional Land and Water Plan combines the Proposed Land and Riverbed Management Plan, the Proposed Water Management Plan and the Regional Plan for Discharges to Land.

 

Transitional Regional Plan

The transitional plan contains authorisations made under legislation that preceded the RMA.

 

Water Plan

Provides the framework for managing water quality, quantity, damming, diversion and discharges to water.

 

The goal of the Regional Plans are to:

"Establish and implement objectives, policies and methods to achieve the integrated management of the natural and physical resources of the West Coast, under the Resource Management Act 1991"
