Transitional Regional Plan

The transitional plan contains authorisations made under legislation that preceded the RMA. While many of these rules have been superseded by the new regional plan rules, several of these authorisations still have effect - in cases where the replacement rule in the water plan or land and riverbed plan is under appeal.

All the transitional rules will be superseded by the rules in the water plan and land and riverbed plan once those RMA plans become operative. In the interim, you are advised to call a planning officer at the council to ascertain which rule takes precedence.
