The West Coast Regional Council (the Council) advises that, following the release of decisions on the Regional Pest Plant Management Plan 2018-2028 (RPPMP) on 16 April 2018, the RPPMP is operative as of 11 July 2018. The Regional Pest Plant Management Plan 2018-2028 replaces the Regional Pest Management Strategy 2010-2015 which is now withdrawn by Council.
The purpose of the RPPMP is to provide the regulatory framework to efficiently and effectively manage or eradicate specified pest plants throughout the West Coast region. The new RPPMP takes a pragmatic approach to pest management on the West Coast, providing Council with the tools required to assist the community in protecting the regions conservation, production and recreational values.
Hard copies of the RPPMP are available for inspection at:
The public libraries in Westport, Reefton, Greymouth and Hokitika; The I-Site in Karamea and the Department of Conservation office in Haast.
