Long-term Plan Review
In April Council will be consulting on the Long-term Plan 2024 – 2034. There are challenges ahead of Council and the Consultation Document explains these and the how they are intended to be addressed.
Like everyone, Council is grappling with rising costs, higher interest rates and inflationary pressures. Just doing the same will cost more.
As part of the Long-term Plan process, User Fees and Charges have been reviewed to ensure they are fair and cover actual and reasonable costs. If you hold a resource consent, of use other Council services, changes to the User Fees and Charges will affect you.
This year copies of the consultation will not be sent to every ratepayer. Instead copies will be available from our website or the public libraries throughout the region.
You will have the chance to have your say through the consultation process before your elected representatives make their final decision about what goes in the Long-term plan. Every submission will help Council understand your priorities. Asking questions when the first rates instalment arrives is too late. If you want to influence Council decisions make sure you provide your feedback by the close of the consultation period.
