West Coast Regional Land Transport Plan 2021-2031
The 2021-2031 West Coast Regional Land Transport Plan sets the strategic direction for land transport in the region over the next ten years. The transport programmes of the West Coast local authorities, Department of Conservation and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency are included in the Plan to be funded from the National Land Transport Fund (NLTF).

West Coast Regional Walking and Cycling Strategy
The Council developed the Walking and Cycling Strategy to promote the uptake of walking and cycling activities through the region. There has been a number of new walking and cycling initiatives since the development of this document.
West Coast Regional Public Transport Plan
The West Coast Regional Public Transport Plan (RPTP) is a legislative document that sets out the Council’s objectives and policies for delivering public transport on the West Coast. It reflects the limited public transport services available on the West Coast, the Total Mobility scheme and the financial assistance provided by two of the District Councils to ensure the ongoing viability of their local taxi services.

West Coast Regional Public Transport Plan 2015
The Council’s current RPTP from 2015 has been reviewed, and the new Draft West Coast Regional Public Transport Plan 2023 is publicly notified for submissions on Monday 28 August 2023. Below are links to a copy of the Draft RPTP, a Statement of Proposal, a submission form, and the public notice.
A paper copy of the Draft RPTP 2023 is available for inspection at the West Coast Regional Council office at 388 Main South Road, Greymouth.
Any person may make a submission on the Draft RPTP 2023, in the prescribed form. Submissions must be received by the West Coast Regional Council no later than 5.00pm on Friday 29 September 2023. Submissions may be delivered directly to the West Coast Regional Council, posted to PO Box 66 Greymouth 7840 or to the following link: RPTP Submissions
Following receipt of submissions, the Council will hold a public hearing to allow those submitters who wish to be heard, to present further material in support of their submission.
The Council will then release their decisions on submissions, amend the Draft RPTP if needed, and adopt it.
