Long-term Plan – It’s time to have your say
The Long-term Plan sets out how Council plans on managing the region’s natural resources for the next 10 years and delivering on our other legislative responsibilities. This includes identifying the activities we need to deliver and proposing what rate contribution is required to cover the estimated costs each year.
Our consultation period is the time for you to let us know if we have got the plan right. Feedback is then considered during a hearing process, where people can talk to their submissions if they want to before Council deliberates and then adopts the final 2024-2034 Long-term Plan in June.
In our consultation document we have identified the significant items that we would like your input on:
- How to balance the budget
- Future funding of Predator Free Te Kinga
We are also seeking feedback on our Strategies and Policies, User Fees and Charges and the Transfer of Ownership of the Grey Floodwall and Havill Wall (Franz Josef).
