West Coast Regional Council works with communities to help make our region a fantastic place to live, play and do business. The region extends from Kahurangi Point in the north to Awarua Point in the south, a distance of 600kms.
WCRC was established in November 1989 when 14 different bodies with regional and resource management roles were amalgamated.
As well as managing the region's land, air and water resources we co-ordinate transport and emergency management functions. We are committed to working alongside the community in ways which are forward looking, progressive and innovative.
