Rates remissions and postponements
The categories for which ratepayers can apply to seek financial assistance for the payment of rates include:
- remissions for land 50% non-rateable
- remission of penalties on rates
- remission of rates on land protected for natural, historic, or cultural conservation purposes
- remission of rates on land subject to natural calamity
- postponement due to financial hardship
- remission and postponement for business and economic development.
The Rates Remissions and Postponements Policy outlines the conditions and criteria required. Each application is considered on a case-by-case basis. A copy of the Policy can be downloaded here. Please ensure you provide all information required with your application.
